Opening a bank account in Poland

The process and formalities

The process of setting up an account is simple, especially for Ukrainian citizens.

Required Documents:

  • Foreign passport
  • PESEL number with “UKR” status
  • Address of residence in Poland

Ways to open an account:

At a bank branch

The most traditional and safest method. You will be supported by a bank employee who will help you fill out all the documents. Usually you will get an account number right away, and you will receive the card by mail.

Online

You can open an account online by filling out an application on the bank’s website and confirming your identity with, for example, an ID card (document photo).

Through the mobile app

Many banks offer the option of opening an account by selfie and verifying the document in the app. This is a fast and convenient option.
